Rendering endlessly

The great thing about being stressed all the time is that you lose weight - you forget to eat...your metabolism goes up...you have loads of energy to burn because some time deadline is eating away at your life and you need to accelerate to compete...

Last night went for a walk in the rain while waiting for an image to compute (took 3 hours), decided to try a bit of parkour on the way to tescos to add a bit of variety. Very fun. Got supportive shouts from random public as the bollard I was jumping on to gave. On the way back across the meadows, was going to climb a tree, but saw someone coming and was embarrassed to - it turned out to be someone I went to primary school with. Weird.

travelling

Hi!

Back from Easter Holy days, they were lovely and full of rest. Visited the beautiful and fantastic country of Sweden, fully recommended if anyone ever has a chance. Especially as tickets can be cheaper from Scotland than going to London!

Also in the break managed to get myself on a trip to the island of Iona, which is stunning. Very worth going, possibly longer traveling and more expensive to get to (!) than Sweden, but very worth it. I kept wanting to try crossing the short bit of sea from Iona to Mull in a coracle, but alas, there were none to be found. (Coracles are the small, circular boats that Celtic monks used to get about on the sea. If you have watched 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader', a coracle is what Reepicheep paddled off to the undying lands in at the end). Did however go swimming.

Got an email from a friend who is in Iceland, doing her thesis on volcanoes. Excerpt: "It´s rather cool to have a cubicle like area inside of nordvulk and hear people walking around saying things like ´we´re picking up activity at Katla´". She's great.
