Junk email

in mailbox today: "Would you like to meet someone REAL?"
intriguing.

Life has contained: sun, houseboat office, cafe brainstorming, bus journeys, lovely housemates, capoeira, many thoughts, design, exciting architecture.

I'm in london innit

Arrived here tuesday night, lovely and hot.

Began getting my head around the design project - the fluid, redefining, inspirational, ecologically minded, innovative office space that is going to become 'The Hub'. Both physical and virtual spaces are being explored...a lot of fun, a lot of work.

Very big bonus is I get to work in the lovely borough of Camden a lot of the time - since there is no office space yet (there may be one available tomorrow), meetings are in cafes, admin and computer work done on the top of a canal boat. (fantastic residence of one of the people I work with.)

London is full of the trendy with large disposable incomes. It's hard, here, not to feel very plain, though that can be quite good. It may be that it is part of the context. Here we all have to compete with miles and miles of pale mannequins staring blankly or not at all, displaying what we don't have. I'm glad we can walk past, laughing or thinking or talking or breathing, flaunting what they will never have.

Be as little like a mannequin as possible.

determinationpower

Edinburgh is great because you can move things across town without a car, although it may involve taking 3 times as long and various balancing techniques. And praying that you bump into a person you know who is helpful, because you're not managing. And a random nice lady who offers to help you and takes some stuff which is light but catches the wind. And a friend who rolls his eyes and helps you the rest of the way.

Must go and wipe down my skirting boards.

Lidl's gave me my phone back, hooray! First manager very very unhelpful, second manager friendly and helpful. Someone found it and put it in their locker so it wouldn't get nicked. Good thing I kept going back...

Quote I have been thinking about recently - don't know yet what my conclusions are:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

No phone

Hi.

I have lost my mobile, it could have been lifted after I left it in Lidl's. So...just to let you know it's not really a useful way of contacting me at the moment. Going to London on Tuesday though so will have something sorted by then. If anyone has an extra handset lying around or knows anyone who does that I could have or borrow, I would be very grateful. Cheers...

Got reminded of the amazing energy of colour and mental health exercises yesterday. Noticing how good life is is a skill that can be honed, it's worth it for the hope it brings to our souls. I want to open myself to loving life and appreciating even the tiniest glimpse of good or of love. I have a feeling that if I can fully notice the smallest things, my world will explode with the joy of them. It might make the pain and weight of the world, our problems, easier to bear. Easier to do something about?

Had a dream of small drops of water, glistening in the sun, like diamonds.
